Our role
A certification audit assesses whether an organisation’s management system meets applicable standard requirements and whether its declared scope is supported by evidence. The results are reviewed before a certification decision.
Services and scope depend on the requested standard, sector, locations and scheme. This website describes the general process; it does not confirm by itself that a particular standard or sector is in the current accredited scope.
Clear terminology
A certification body assesses a company’s management system. An accreditation body assesses the competence and impartiality of a certification body for defined scopes. Accredited certification must fall within the recognised standard, sector, scope and locations.
Ask the issuer to confirm current scope before relying on a certificate for contractual or compliance purposes.
